Since 1998 Dunreidy Engineering Ltd. has designed, patented and set up a manufacturing facility for a new product range called HYCON. It is a modular Stainless Steel Cable Containment System used in Industrial applications for the installation of Electrical, Instrumentation and Pneumatic services.

The main advantage of our systems is the substantial cost saving in installation time,due to the modular design and quick assembly. Material costs can also be decreased,depending on the type of comparison Installation.

HYCON has been designed for use in the following Industries :

  It is available in 2 Product ranges, which are as follows:

HYCON (O):
Fully sealed system to IP 68 Category 1 rating as per BS EN 60529.

HYCONS (S):
Enclosed , semi-enclosed or open-ended system.

Both systems can be used separately or in combination, depending on the particular installation requirements.We recommend bonding Hycon joints for super rigidity. (Approved Hycon bonding agent.)
Hycon-S system can be sealed using bonding agent. (Approved Hycon bonding agents.)

The main application for both systems is as follows :

  • Installation of open rated cord or cables such as SWA (Steel Wire Armour), Olflex,Cy, LiyCy, Belden, etc.
  • Installation of Pneumatic tubing.
  • Installation of signal and data cabling.

HYCON
The HYCON range consists of the following parts, which are available in sizes:
1 inch ,1.5 inch ,2 inch ,2.5 inch ,3 inch and 4 inch.

Conduits ( available in 316 grade stainless steel ).

  • Joiner ( coupler ) to IP 68 Category 1 Rating- 316 grade.
  • Socket Joiner ( joiner with fixing attachment for support ) to IP 68 Category 1 Rating-316.
  • Socket and Bush to IP 68 Category 1 Rating- 316 grade only.
  • Long Radius Bend ( elbow )-316 grade.
  • Tee piece-316 grade.
  • 45 Degree Bend-316 grade.
  • Long Radius Bend with Tee ( elbow with tee )-316 grade.
  • Inspection Box (2 way junction box )-316 grade.
  • Inspection Tee ( 3 way or 4 Way junction box )- 316 grade.

316 Grade Stainless
316 Grade Stainless Steel fittings are  available as specified under our Product Details and are suitable for general and extreme use.

It also is more corrosion resistant than 304 grade due to its Molybdenum content and is suitable for most applications,
especially where this is a high corrosion risk, for example in areas where abrasive solutions, detergents or acids would be used.
